INSTALLATION OF YOUR EMBLEMS
Soft Badge/LeftChest:
Customer supplied soft badges can be installed on the LEFT chest of your garment during production. Items installed on GORE-TEX® products include the sealing of all stitch lines to ensure the waterproof integrity of your garment. Instructions for submitting your items to us will be sent by email after submission of your order with FORUM-DIRECT./td>
Agency Emblem/LeftSleeve:
Select this option to have us install your agency emblems or rank insignia on the LEFT sleeve of your garment during production. Items installed on GORE-TEX® products include the sealing of all stitch lines to ensure the waterproof integrity of your garment. Standard installation is for top of emblem to rest 1” below the shoulder seam, centered on the shoulder. You will be able to specify if your requirements are different.
Agency Emblem/RightSleeve:
As above, but on the RIGHT sleeve of your garment. If supplied emblems are different from left to right, you will have the opportunity to specify the proper placement and location using the form provided to you through our EASY EMBLEM SUBMISSION process.
BADGE AND NAME TABS
Badge Tab/LeftChest:
By selecting this option, your jacket will have a traditional badge tab installed on the upper left chest with two eyelets spaced at 1 3/8” for easy installation of a metallic badge.
Name Tab/Right Chest:
Your jacket will have a traditional badge tab installed on the upper right chest with two eyelets spaced at 1 3/8” to accommodate attachment of your metallic name badge.
Name Tab Velcro/Right Chest:
We will install a strip of velcro (typically loop) on your jacket, to facilitate your use of removable name tabs. The size of the velcro is typically 1” high by 4” wide, but you may request a custom size, if necessary. This does not include the embroidered name tab, which is listed as a separate option, below.
ADDITIONAL DESIGN OPTIONS
Shoulder Epaulets:
These epaulets are made from the same material as your garment, and can be used as a mic tab, mic wire holder or as holders for rank insignia loops. If you would like us to embroider removable insignia which can be easily attached to the epaulets, please see below.
Fleece-lined lower slash pockets:
This option can be added to the GORE-TEX® Lightweight products and provides additional warmth for your hands.
Delete Weapon Access:
A very common request for recreational-style or off-duty jackets, we can leave off the side zippers on any STANDARD model jacket. The weapon access zippers are a standard feature on the longer, Standard jackets, and facilitate easy access to your weapon belt. If you select this option, your garments will be sewn down the side seam to the lower hem.
CUSTOM EMBROIDERY OPTIONS
We offer a total, "turnkey", solution to our customers by completing any necessary personalization or embroidery as part of our manufacturing process. By stitching names or emblems directly to the garment during production, we are able to ensure that your garments (where applicable) still meet the stringent waterproof tests required by GORE. Please note that WINDSTOPPER® products do not have sealed seams, and are classifed as "Water-Resistant."
Custom digitizing and embroidery of your department emblem is available through FORUM-DIRECT. All work, including digitizing, is done in-house, rather than overseas or in a separate facility. We will work closely with you to make sure you are completely satisfied with the finished product. Digitizing fee for any Department Logo is $45.00. Check the option at the bottom of your order form to add this service to your order. A high quality JPG, BMP, PDF, AI, or PSD of your logo will be required. You will have the option of attaching your file at the time of checkout, or you can upload later via YOUR ACCOUNT.
Logo or Badge/LeftChest Embroidery:
We can embroider your department badge, emblem, or logo on the left chest of your garment during the production process. If you have a DST or other embroidery file, we are happy to use yours - or you may order our professional, in-house digitizing services.
Name/RightChest:
We add your name directly to the garment during production. Name can be stitched in either one or two lines. You will have the opportunity to specify thread color, font style and size. If ordering multiple jackets, please be sure to indicate the size/name combinations in the PERSONALIZATION field of the order. Digitizing of names is included at no additional charge.
Name/Fabric Tape:
As above, but we embroider your name on a "Name Tape" constructed of the same fabric as the garment, with Velcro® backing for attachment. This is a great solution if you would like to be able to re-purpose your garments at a later date. Additional name tapes can be ordered separately by contacting Customer Service. Be sure to also order the Name Tab Velcro/Right Chest option above.
Rank Insignia Loops
Sold as pairs, these are typically standard rank emblems embroidered on self-fabric loops with velcro closure. The loops can easily be added or removed from our Epaulets. Ranks can be sewn in standard or metallic threads. Additional sets of Rank Loops can be ordered by contacting Customer Service.
Full Back Embroidered Lettering:
Typically in 4” high letters, we can embroider SHERIFF, POLICE, etc., directly on the back of your garments.
VINYL AND REFLECTIVE OPTIONS
We can also apply a variety of vinyl or reflective tape and lettering to your garments. Contact Customer Service for more information about what is available.
Full Back Vinyl Lettering:
Vinyl lettering on the back of your jacket is limited to 14” wide by 9” high. This lettering can be of any custom design you have for your agency or simply “POLICE”, “SHERIFF” or any other block lettering you desire.f

How To Measure For The Right Size
Chest:
Measure around chest just under arms across shoulder blades with arms relaxed down at sides.
Height:
Measure from top of head down standing barefoot on a hard flat surface with normal posture.
Hips:
Measure around fullest part of body at the top of legs with feet together.
Inseam:
Measure from inside crotch seam to the hem of pants that fit you well.
Waist:
Measure around natural waistline which appears as crease when bending to one side.
Neck:
Measure around fullest part of neck.
Rise:
Measure from the crotch to top of waistband.
Sleeve:
Measure from center back of neck, over point of shoulder, and down outside of arm past elbow to wrist with arm relaxed at side.

All garments are made to order at our own factory in San Antonio, Texas. You will be contacted by Forum Customer Service when your product is ready to be shipped.
Purchase Order, Credit Card or other payment is required to place an order, but you will be notified of your options if delivery will be delayed for any reason.
Once completed your order will be shipped via UPS Ground Delivery, and most customers will receive their items within 3-5 working days.
January of 2014 started off in Virginia with a deep freeze. Some of the coldest weather in decades became the norm. Our departmental issued cold weather gear consisted of the Windstopper and the light weight patrol shell combination by Forum-Direct.
On the coldest day of 1 degree, with wind chills well into the negatives, I walked out not sure how the gear would do. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the effective ness of the two layer system. The Windstopper offered a comfortable layer of warmth while the Lightweight Patrol Shell stopped any semblance of wind. I was able to leave them on throughout the entire shift which is a testament to their comfort. Getting in and out of the patrol vehicle wasn’t an issue for me and the rest of my department. We remained happy and comfortable throughout the entire cold spell.
I did notice one flaw…you don’t make gloves or toboggans…I really wished you did. The ones we have cannot hold a candle to the quality and warmth of your products. Thanks for bringing bad weather gear into the modern era.

Hello George,
As you may recall, my officers wear an exterior molle type vest, with several items of equipment attached by Velcro. I didn't like the look of the equipment bulging under a jacket,or the restricted access, and sizing/fit was difficult. I considered wearing the molly vest over the jacket, but that didn't look like I wanted either. My solution was to allow the officers to go back to wearing the regular vest under the uniform shirt, thus giving them the option to wear the 521 over it. If an officer wants to wear the molle vest over the shirt, he or she has that option, with no jacket. All vest options afforded an opportunity to wear the base layer.
We received our base layer and 521 jackets for each officer just prior to a very cold stretch in February and March. I was very pleased that the order was filled so quickly. All officers have the base layer, and most wear the vest underneath, allowing for the jacket over top. A few wear the base layer, uniform shirt and molle vest only, as they highly value the weight bearing advantages of the vest outside. We are very pleased with all combinations. We have experienced rain, sleet, snow, and extreme wind with a random 50 degree day now and again. In all conditions my officers and I have been very pleased and comfortable wearing your products.
As a small agency our goal is to get the most value and function with our limited budget. I think by being flexible in our uniform policy to allow some personal preference options, and by buying quality products from Forum, we have achieved our goal.
